Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Sandeep Patel #5807 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Steady 5K with a Stronger Closing Kilometre Sandeep ran 5.00km in 39:46, averaging 7:57/km. He placed 66th in the Male 55+ division and finished ahead of roughly 35% of the 5,624 starters. His quickest kilometre was the opening 1km in 7:04, and he closed well with 7:54 for the final kilometre after mid-race splits of 8:18, 8:11 and 8:21. The pacing pattern shows a fast start, a slower middle section, then a lift late on. That final kilometre was 27 seconds quicker than kilometre 4, which is a useful positive sign. As a coaching note, a slightly more even effort across the first 3km could help him hold pace better through the middle and improve the overall time at this fast evening Canary Wharf 5K.
