Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ursa Malacic #1787 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Opening Kilometre Set Up a Solid 5K Ursa ran 25:27 for 5K, averaging 5:05/km. She placed 1384th of 5624 overall, 343rd female, and 121st in the female 2630 category. Her fastest kilometre was the first in 4:59, and she was through 2K in 10:01. The middle of the race stayed steady, with 3K reached in 15:11 and 4K in 20:20, before a 5:07 final kilometre. That gave her a narrow 12-second spread from fastest to slowest kilometre, a useful sign of control across the distance. From a coaching view, the opening pace was well judged; the main opportunity is to hold that sub-5:00/km rhythm a little deeper into the race. In an evening Canary Wharf 5K built for quick running, this was a consistent effort.
