Fast Start, Solid Top-Division Showing Pete ran 5.00 km in 23:23, averaging 4:40/km. He placed 30th of men aged 4650 and finished ahead of most of the field, placing 894th of 5,624 overall. His opening 1 km was his quickest at 4:27, and he reached 2 km in 9:04 before settling into a steady mid-race rhythm. From 2 km onward, his splits were 4:37, 4:48, 4:51 and 4:41, showing a small slowdown through 4 km before a stronger final kilometre. That late pickup is a useful positive on a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. As a coachs note, a slightly more even effort after the quick first kilometre could help him hold closer to 4:40/km throughout and trim more time next outing.
