Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ajay Patel #1815 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish with a Well-Paced Final 2K He covered 5.00 km in 25:56, averaging 5:11/km. His opening 3 km were very steady at 5:15, 5:20, and 5:18, reaching 3 km in 15:51. The standout stat was the close: he ran both the 4th and 5th kilometres in 5:03, a clear lift from the early pace and a strong negative trend over the second half. He finished 1,490th of 5,624, placing in the top 27% overall, and 128th in the Male 3640 division. He also moved up through 3 km, improving from 1,777th at 1 km to 1,490th by 3 km. That late acceleration is a good sign; the next step would be trying to bring a little more of that 5:03/km rhythm into the middle kilometres on a fast evening 5K like this.
