Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Sophie Ryan #3528 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish Lifts a Steady 5K Sophie covered 5.00 km in 37:28, averaging 7:29/km at Run The Wharf in Canary Wharf. Her opening 2 km were very even at 7:35 and 7:34/km, reaching 2 km in 15:09. Through 4 km she stayed consistent, with kilometres 3 and 4 at 7:52 and 7:50/km, for 30:50 at 4 km. The standout stat was her closing kilometre: 6:39/km, 1:11 quicker than her overall average pace and her fastest segment by a clear margin. She gained places early, moving from 3701st overall at 1 km to 3498th at 2 km, and finished 1582nd female. As a coachs note, that finishing speed suggests she had more to use earlier; aiming to bring a little of that final-kilometre pace into the middle section could lower her next 5K time.
