Steady 5K with a Fast Opening Kilometre Peter ran 5.00 km in 35:22, averaging 7:04/km. He placed 58th in the Male 55+ division and finished ahead of a large portion of the 5,624-runner field. His quickest kilometre was the first in 6:39, giving him a strong start in this closed-road Canary Wharf evening 5K. After 2 km in 13:42, his pace settled into a narrow band: 7:19, 7:14, and 7:08/km across kilometres 3 to 5. That consistency over the final 3 km is a useful positive. The main opportunity is to smooth the pace between the opening kilometre and the middle section; a slightly more even start could help him hold closer to his early rhythm deeper into the race.
