Strong finish and steady 5K pacing Jon ran 5.00 km in 24:09, averaging 4:49/km at Run The Wharf in Canary Wharf. He finished 40th in the male 4650 division and 1096th of 5624 overall, placing him in roughly the top 20% of the field. Racing for Clifford Chance, he improved his position through the run, moving from 1290th at 1 km to 1096th at the finish. After a 6:05 opening kilometre, he settled well: kilometres 24 were very consistent at 3:46, 4:54 and 4:55, before closing with his quickest full kilometre in 4:31. That final kilometre was a clear strength and shows good finishing speed on a fast evening 5K course. The main opportunity is the opening kilometre: a smoother start would likely bring the overall time down further.
