Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Amitabh Lall #3825 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish with a Faster Final Kilometre Amitabh completed the 5K in 49:49, averaging 9:57/km. He placed 156th in the Male 4145 division and finished ahead of roughly 31% of the 5,624 participants. Running with EBRD Runners, he covered the full 5.0 km on the closed-road Canary Wharf course that is part of Friday Night Lights evening race series. His fastest kilometre was the first in 8:03/km, and he closed well with a 9:10 final kilometre, his quickest segment after halfway. The middle section slowed from 10:47/km in kilometre 2 to 11:21/km in kilometre 3, then improved to 10:30/km in kilometre 4. A useful next step would be aiming to hold kilometre 2 and 3 a little closer to the opening pace, which could make that strong finishing speed count even more.
