Strong negative split with a fast finishing kilometre Ayla ran 5.00 km in 25:56, averaging 5:11/km. She placed 37th in the female 3640 division, 385th female, and 1488th overall out of 5624. Representing Clifford Chance at the Canary Wharf evening 5K, she moved up steadily through the field across the race. Her kilometre splits were 5:20, 5:30, 5:19, 5:10, and 4:39. That closing kilometre was the standout stat: 31 seconds quicker than her first and 51 seconds quicker than her second. She improved her average pace from 5:24/km at 2 km to 5:11/km by the finish, with clear progression from 3 km onward. As a coachs note, the finishing speed was excellent; a slightly more assertive second kilometre could bring the overall time down further.
