Strong Finish and Smart Late Acceleration Paul completed the 5.0 km in 32:09 at 6:25/km, placing 83rd in the mens 5155 division. In a field of 5,624, he finished 2,870th overall and 1,566th among men. His opening 3 km were very even at 6:40, 6:47, and 6:45 per km, showing controlled pacing through the early part of this closed-road Canary Wharf 5K. The key stat was the finish: he improved to 6:28/km in the fourth kilometre, then closed with his quickest kilometre in 5:32. That late surge moved him up from 3,226th at 1 km to 2,870th at the line. As a coachs note, the strongest opportunity is to bring a little more of that final-kilometre pace into the middle section while keeping the same steady opening control.
