Quick opening kilometre set up a steady 5K Rachel ran 5.0 km in 41:00, averaging 8:12/km. Her fastest kilometre was the first in 7:24/km, and she reached 2 km in 15:18 at 7:39/km average. She finished 131st in the female 4145 division, 1710th female, and 3738th overall out of 5,624. Representing Greenwich Runners, she raced in an event known for its closed-road evening 5K through Canary Wharf. The pacing trend was clear: 7:24, 7:55, 8:48, 8:41, then a stronger final kilometre of 8:13. That late pickup after kilometres 3 and 4 is a useful positive. As a coachs note, the main gain would come from holding closer to the early pace through the middle section, which would make the finish speed-up even more effective.
