Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Phil Fitz-Gerald #4211 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish Lifted the Overall 5K He covered 5.00 km in 28:52, averaging 5:46/km. In a field of 5,624, he finished 2,205th overall and 65th in the Male 5155 division. His opening kilometre was a solid 5:37, and he reached 2 km in 11:23 before the pace eased through 3 km (6:01) and 4 km (6:08). The standout stat was the finish: his final kilometre was 5:22, the quickest of the race and 46 seconds faster than km 4. That late surge moved him up one place in division and six places overall from 4 km to the line. For a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that closing speed suggests good reserves; the next step is aiming to hold the early pace more evenly through the middle kilometres.
