Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Freya Wood #3599 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Strong Mid-Race Position Gains Freya covered 5.00 km in 26:49, averaging 5:21/km. She finished 1,709th of 5,624 overall, 474th female, and 167th in the female 2630 division. A notable stat: she moved up 225 places overall from 1 km to the finish, including 88 places by 2 km. Her pacing was steady across the first 4 km: 5:28, 5:21, 5:35, and 5:27 per km, before closing with her quickest kilometre at 4:59. That final km was 22 seconds faster than her average pace and lifted her 10 places among women late on. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that finish shows good closing strength. For the next race, aiming to bring the 3rd km closer to the pace of km 2 and 4 could lower the overall time further.
