Strong finish with steadily faster kilometres Sue completed the 5K in 32:11, averaging 6:26/km. She placed 18th in the Female 55+ division and finished ahead of nearly half the field, placing 2877th of 5624. Running with Canary Wharf Run Club, she improved her position significantly after the opening kilometre. Her pacing was the standout stat: 7:05, 6:18, 6:23, 6:28, then 5:58 for the final kilometre. That closing kilometre was 1:07 quicker than the first and her only sub-6:00/km segment, showing strong control across the race and a decisive finish. The middle 3 km were especially consistent, all between 6:18/km and 6:28/km. As a coaching point, a slightly quicker opening kilometre could bring her overall time down further while keeping that excellent late-race strength.
