Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Leon Weed #2052 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Opening 2K Set Up a Strong Sub-24 Finish Leon covered 5.00 km in 23:47, averaging 4:45/km. He finished 36th in the male 4650 division and inside the top 18% overall (997th of 5,624). His first kilometre was his quickest at 4:15, and he reached 2 km in 8:58 at 4:29/km pace. From there, his pace settled to 4:57, 5:02, and 4:52 for the final three kilometres. That meant a 9:49 first 2 km versus 14:49 for the last 3 km, showing how much the opening pace asked of the second half. On a quick evening 5K through Canary Wharf, the standout stat was that early speed. A slightly more even effort across the middle kilometres could help him convert that strong start into a faster overall time next time.
