Her pacing improved through the race: 6:24, 6:15, 6:15, 6:08, then a fastest final kilometre of 5:49. That closing kilometre was 35 seconds quicker than the opening one, a clear sign of controlled effort and good finishing strength. She had moved up to 42nd in her division by 4 km before finishing 43rd, so the middle 3 km were particularly steady. For a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a well-managed run; the next step is to bring a little more of that late-race pace into the opening half.
