Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Eleanor Woodley #3044 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish with steady pacing and a fast final kilometre Eleanor ran 5.00 km in 28:11, averaging 5:38/km. She placed 2,049th of 5,624 overall, 632nd female, and 126th in the female 3135 division. Her pacing was controlled early: 1 km and 2 km were both 5:44, followed by 5:50 at 3 km, then 5:41 at 4 km. The standout stat was her closing kilometre in 5:14, by far her quickest of the race. She improved her division placing from 146th at 1 km to 126th at the finish, gaining ground steadily through the run. That late acceleration is a strong sign of good race management. As a coachs note, building a little more speed in the middle kilometres could help convert that strong finish into a faster overall 5K on another quick evening course like this Canary Wharf route.
