Steady 5K with a Strong Closing Kilometre Jana covered 5.00 km in 43:34, averaging 8:42/km. She placed 96th in the Female 4650 category out of a 5,624-runner field. Her fastest kilometre was the final one in 8:35, a good sign of controlled pacing at this Friday night Canary Wharf 5K. Her splits were consistent after the opening kilometre: 8:19, 8:57, 8:49, 8:55, and 8:35. After a slower middle section, she finished well and brought her average pace back down. Category position improved to 87th by 2 km before settling at 96th by the finish. As a coaching note, holding the 1st and 5th kilometre rhythm more evenly through the middle 3 km could trim time next outing.
