Strong Finish with Even Early Pace and Faster Closing Kilometres Lauren completed the 5K in 31:16, averaging 6:15/km. She placed 120th in the female 3640 division and finished ahead of more than half the field overall, placing 2720th of 5624. Running with She Strides at Run The Wharf, she handled the evening closed-road course through Canary Wharf with a steady overall effort. Her first 2km were very consistent at 6:14 and 6:17, then 3km dipped to 6:35 before a strong response. The final 2km were her quickest of the race at 6:06 and 6:06, bringing her average back to 6:15/km. That late-race pickup is the standout stat here. As a coachs note, smoothing out the middle kilometre could bring the overall time closer to the low-31 or sub-31 range.
