Fast Closing 5K With A Strong Final Kilometre Elise covered 5.00 km in 28:19, averaging 5:39/km. She finished 2079th of 5624, placing in the top 37% overall. Among women, she was 647th, and 131st in the female 3135 division. Running with Canary Wharf Run Club, she also gained 11 overall places across the final kilometre. Her pacing showed a clear finish: 5:29, 5:42, 5:56, 6:00, then a quickest closing kilometre of 5:13. That last kilometre was 47 seconds faster than kilometre 4 and 16 seconds faster than kilometre 1, a strong late response. As a coachs note, holding closer to opening pace through kilometres 24 could bring down the overall time further. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening 5K in Canary Wharf suited that fast finish well.
