Strong Negative Split and Fast Finish Over 5K Claudia ran 5.00 km in 22:35, averaging 4:31/km. She placed 136th of 5,624 women and 42nd in the female 2630 category. In a big-field evening 5K through Canary Wharf, her pacing stood out: 4:40, 4:33, 4:30, 4:30, then 4:23 for the final kilometre. She improved her average pace at every checkpoint from 4:40/km after 1 km to 4:31/km at the finish, gaining more than 240 overall places between 1 km and the line. The final 3 km averaged about 4:28/km, a clear step up from the opening 2 km. That finishing strength is a strong asset; next time, a slightly more assertive first kilometre could bring the overall time down further.
