Strong Finish with Progress Across the 5K He completed the 5K in 36:17, averaging 7:15/km. The most notable stat was the pacing trend: each of the first three kilometres got quicker, from 7:35 to 7:23 to 7:12/km, before a steady 7:21/km fourth kilometre and a fastest final kilometre of 6:48/km. That closing kilometre was 47 seconds quicker than his first. He also moved up well early, improving from 3688th at 1km to 3418th by 3km, and held that position through 4km before finishing 3449th of 5624. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that finishing kick stands out. As a coachs note, the data suggests good closing strength; the next step is aiming to hold the 7:127:21/km range a little earlier for a more even overall run.
