Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Sam Taiwo #841 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish with a Fast Final Kilometre Sam ran 5.00 km in 23:05, averaging 4:37/km. He finished 837th of 5,624, placing him in roughly the top 15% overall, and 162nd in the Male 2630 division. His pacing was steady through 4 km: 4:40, 4:34, 4:46, and 4:44, before closing with his quickest kilometre at 4:23. That final kilometre was 21 seconds faster than his average pace and 23 seconds quicker than his opening kilometre, a clear sign of strong finishing speed. He also improved his overall position from 947th at 1 km to 837th at the line, gaining 110 places across the race. For future 5Ks, aiming to bring kilometre 3 closer to the pace of kilometres 2 and 4 could help turn that strong finish into an even faster overall time.
