Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alex Atkins #4449 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Start, Strong Top-5% Age-Group Result Alex ran 5.00 km in 23:05, averaging 4:37/km. He placed 27th in the Male 4650 division, 542nd among men, and 841st overall out of 5,624 finishers. That puts him near the top 5% of his age group and around the top 15% overall. In a quick evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that is a solid return. His opening 2 km were the quickest: 4:24, then 4:36 for 9:00 at halfway to 2 km. Pace then eased slightly across the second half with 4:40, 4:45, and 4:43. He improved age-group position to 22nd by 2 km before finishing 27th, so the main opportunity is holding that early rhythm deeper into the race. The first half showed good speed; building a little more late-race durability could sharpen the overall time.
