Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: James Williams #6061 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish Sealed a Steady 5K James Williams completed the 5K in 27:23, averaging 5:28/km across 5.00 km. He placed 1,854th of 5,624 overall, 1,157th among men, and 165th in the M36-40 division. Running in Londons evening Canary Wharf event, he stayed close to his average pace for most of the race, a solid sign of control. His opening 2 km were very even at 5:29 and 5:28/km, followed by 5:34/km through 3 km and 5:44/km through 4 km. The key stat was the final kilometre: 5:11/km, his quickest of the day, which lifted him 13 places overall and 4 in his age group. That finishing speed stands out. For future races, aiming to hold the 3-4 km section closer to early-race pace could convert that strong finish into a quicker overall time.
