That puts him well inside the top 6% overall, a strong return in a large field. This closed-road Canary Wharf 5K is built for speed, and he converted that into a sub-20 performance. His pacing showed a very quick opening kilometre in 3:36, then settled to 3:56, 4:03, 4:14, and back to 3:56. The standout stat is the rebound in the final kilometre after the slowest patch through 4 km. As a coachs note: the opening pace was notably faster than race average, so a slightly more even first 2 km could help preserve position deeper into the race and support a stronger middle section.
