Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Marie Warnes #7848 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish with fastest closing kilometre Marie completed the 5K in 34:16, averaging 6:51/km over 5.00 km. She placed 161st in the Female 3640 division, 1339th among women, and finished ahead of a large portion of the 5624-runner field. Her fastest kilometre was the last in 6:37/km, 24 seconds quicker than her slowest. The pacing was steady: 6:45, 6:58, 6:58, 7:01, then 6:37/km. That closing surge is the standout stat and shows she had good strength late in the race. She also improved position early, moving from 164th to 159th in her division by 4 km before settling at 161st by the finish. For the next outing, aiming to hold the final-kilometre rhythm a little earlier could trim more time in a fast evening 5K like this.
