Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Shereen Abdelhady #2167 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish With Fastest Final Kilometre Shereen completed 5.00 km in 33:58, averaging 6:47/km. She placed 1,311th of female finishers and 405th in the female 2630 category, in a field of 5,624. Her pacing across the first 4 km stayed controlled: 6:49, 6:56, 7:14, and 6:47 per km. The standout stat was her closing kilometre in 6:14/km, the fastest of the race and 33 seconds quicker than her average pace. She also moved up steadily through the early kilometres, improving from 1,460th female at 1 km to 1,311th by the finish. That late surge is a strong positive. As a coachs note, carrying a little more of that final-kilometre rhythm into the middle section could help lower the overall time at future evening 5Ks like this fast Canary Wharf run.
