Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Colin Mccaffrey #1342 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong negative split with a fast closing kilometre Colin ran 5.00 km in 23:08, averaging 4:37/km. He placed 28th in the Male 4650 division and finished ahead of most of the 5,624-runner field, with an overall placing of 852. In an evening 5K built for quick running through Canary Wharf, his result was backed by steady improvement across the race. His kilometre splits progressed well: 4:43, 4:42, 4:36, 4:39, then a fastest final kilometre of 4:30. He moved up from 38th to 27th in his age group by 3 km, showing strong mid-race positioning before finishing 28th. That closing kilometre was 13 seconds quicker than the opening one, a clear positive. The main opportunity is to bring the 4:30 pace slightly earlier, which could lower the overall time further.
