Fast Final Kilometre Lifted a Steady 5K Maisie Chandler ran 5.0km in 33:29, averaging 6:41/km at Run The Wharf in London. She finished 3,099th of 5,624 overall, placing 1,262nd among women and 235th in the female 1825 category. Her opening kilometre was 6:22, and she reached 2km in 13:16 before settling through the middle of the race. The standout stat was her finish: after kilometres of 6:55, 7:15 and 6:55, she closed with her quickest segment at 6:05/km. That late speed gain moved her up 12 places among women over the final kilometre. Coaching-wise, the strong close suggests good finishing strength; the next step is to hold the early rhythm more evenly through kilometres 24 to bring the overall average down.
