Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: James Evans #1159 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Opening Km Set Up a Solid 5K James ran 5.0 km in 24:40, averaging 4:56/km. He finished 1,194th of 5,624, placing him in roughly the top 21% overall, and 145th in the Male 3135 division. His quickest kilometre was the opener in 4:31, and he stayed under 5:00/km through 2 km. This was a strong effort at Run The Wharf, the closed-road evening 5K through Canary Wharf. His splits were 4:31, 4:52, 5:15, 5:06, and 4:58, with a 44-second spread between fastest and slowest kilometres. The standout stat is the rebound over the final kilometre, dipping back under 5:00/km after km 3 and 4. As a coachs note, pacing a little more evenly after the quick first kilometre could help him hold closer to his early rhythm deeper into the race.
