He placed 48th of 5,624 overall participants in the Male 5155 division, a strong age-group showing, and 1,605th overall. His opening 1 km was his quickest at 4:45/km, and he reached 2 km in 9:50 at 4:55/km average pace. From there, his pace settled to 5:37/km for the third kilometre, 5:34/km for the fourth, and 5:23/km for the final kilometre. That late improvement after 4 km is a useful positive. As a coachs note, a slightly more even spread after the fast start could help him hold closer to sub-5:15/km deeper into the race. On a closed-road evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that finishing response stands out.
