His fastest kilometre was the first in 4:19, and he stayed close to that pace early with 8:43 through 2 km. The pacing pattern was 4:19, 4:24, 4:34, 4:26, then 4:45, so the middle of the race remained controlled before the final kilometre faded. That suggests a good speed base, with the main opportunity being to hold the closing kilometre nearer the 4:254:30/km range. In an event built for fast evening racing through Canary Wharf, this was a well-executed run with a particularly strong first 4 km.
