Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Fiona Malitsky #482 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish secures podium spot in age group Fiona ran 5.00 km in 21:14, averaging 4:14/km. She placed 3rd in the Female 4650 division, 66th female, and 485th of 5,624 overall. In a large evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that age-group podium stands out. Her pacing was well controlled: 4:21, 4:12, 4:17, 4:17, then a fastest final kilometre of 4:09. She moved up from 649th overall at 1 km to 485th by the finish, with the biggest gain coming in the second kilometre. Closing with the quickest split shows strong finishing speed. As a coaching note, a slightly sharper first kilometre could bring the overall time closer to the low-21 or sub-21 range while keeping this steady middle section intact.
