Fast Finish and Steady 5K Execution Ed ran 5.00 km in 27:01, averaging 5:24/km. In a field of 5,624, he placed 88th in the Male 4145 division. His pacing was consistent across the race: 5:35, 5:18, 5:25, 5:32, then a fastest final kilometre of 5:13. That closing kilometre was 22 seconds quicker than his opening kilometre, a strong late-race stat. He improved position early, moving from 101st to 93rd in the division by 2 km, then to 87th by 3 km, before finishing 88th. The middle 3 km ranged from 5:18/km to 5:32/km, showing solid control. As a coaching note, trimming a little time from km 1 and km 4 could make the overall effort even smoother. This evening Canary Wharf 5K rewards rhythm, and his finish showed good reserve.
