Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Sophie Loveday #3436 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish and Well-Paced Final Kilometre Sophie completed this 5K in 35:42, averaging 7:08/km. She placed 265th in the Female 1825 division out of 5,624 total participants. Her opening kilometre was 6:55, then she settled through the middle of the race with splits of 7:23, 7:37 and 7:05 before closing with her fastest kilometre in 6:44. That finishing split stands out: 53 seconds quicker than kilometre 3 and 21 seconds quicker than her overall average pace per kilometre. She also improved her division position from 279th at 1 km to 260th by 34 km before finishing 265th. In a fast evening 5K around Canary Wharf, that late-race pickup is a useful marker. For the next run, aiming for a steadier middle section could help bring the overall time down further.
