Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Sanjay Puri #3893 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong start, sharper finish over 5K He covered 5.00 km in 32:55, averaging 6:35/km at Run The Wharf. His fastest kilometre was the opening 1 km in 5:52, and after settling through the middle section at 6:53, 6:56, and 6:59/km, he closed well with a final kilometre of 6:16. He placed 84th in the mens 5155 division. The stats show a clear pattern: quick early pace, a steady mid-race slowdown, then a strong rebound late. That finishing kilometre is a good marker of retained speed and suggests he had more to work with in the closing stages. As a coaching point, aiming for a slightly more even effort across kilometres 2 to 4 could help bring the overall average down next time on this fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf.
