Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Tom Meijer #7924 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast start with steady 5K pacing Tom Meijer ran 21:23 for 5.00 km, averaging 4:16/km at Run The Wharf in Canary Wharf. He placed 515th of 5,624 overall, 314th male, and 41st in the male 3640 division. His opening kilometre was his quickest at 4:03, and he stayed close to pace from there with splits of 4:24, 4:19, 4:17, and 4:22. That gave him a narrow spread of just 21 seconds between fastest and slowest kilometres, showing solid control after an aggressive start. He also moved up overall between 2 km and 4 km, improving from 505th to 479th before the final kilometre. A slightly more even first kilometre could help him carry that mid-race momentum deeper into the closing stages on another fast evening 5K.
