Representing Financial Conduct Authority, she improved her position steadily through the race, gaining 310 places overall from 1 km to the finish. Her pacing was the standout stat: 5:06, 5:02, 5:01, 5:01, then 4:34 for the final kilometre. That is a clear negative split, with the last kilometre 32 seconds quicker than the first. Holding 5:02/km or better from 2 km onward showed good control, and the finish was decisive. As a next step, aiming to bring the opening kilometre a little closer to mid-race pace could unlock a slightly faster overall time on another quick evening 5K through Canary Wharf.
