Fast Opening Km Set Up a Solid 5K Britney ran 5.0km in 30:46, averaging 6:09/km. She opened strongly with her quickest kilometre at 5:39, then covered the next four kilometres in 6:10, 6:18, 6:18 and 6:23. That gave her a 31-second spread from fastest to slowest kilometre, showing a good early gear over the closed-road Canary Wharf course. She finished 2621st of 5624, placing inside the top half overall. Among women, she was 963rd, and 305th in the female 2630 category. From a coaching view, the key opportunity is pacing: matching that quick first kilometre a little more closely to the middle section could help reduce late fade and bring the average pace down next time.
