In the male 2630 division, he was 73rd. At an evening 5K built for speed through Canary Wharf, that is a solid result. His pacing was controlled and effective: 4:08, 4:10, 4:13, 4:07, then a fastest final kilometre of 3:54. He moved up from 496th at 1 km to 388th at the finish, gaining 108 places overall. The last 2 km were especially strong after 3 km in 12:29. As a coaching note, the early pace was steady; carrying that final-kilometre urgency a little sooner could bring his next 5K closer to the 20-minute mark.
