In the male field he was 247th, and he placed 52nd in the Male 3135 division. He opened quickly with a 4:03 first kilometre and closed well with a 4:06 final kilometre. His pacing showed a small mid-race slowdown: 4:03, 4:07, 4:14, 4:17, then back to 4:06. That late recovery is a good sign, and he gained 10 places in his division over the final 2 km despite slipping 5 spots overall in the last kilometre. For a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a well-executed run. Next step: aim to hold the early rhythm closer to 4:084:10/km through kilometres 3 and 4.
