Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Aliredha Damji #7971 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Negative Split with a Fast Final 2km He completed the 5K in 28:15, averaging 5:39/km. That placed him 2063rd of 5624 overall, 1255th among men, and 353rd in the mens 2630 division. In a fast evening closed-road race through Canary Wharf, he moved up well early, improving from 2390th at 1km to 2163rd at 2km, then to 2063rd by 3km. His pacing was a clear strength. After 1km in 5:50 and 2km in 5:43, 3km dipped to 5:57, but he responded well with back-to-back 5:24 kilometres to finish. That gave him a quicker second half and a strong closing 2km. The key coaching note is to smooth out that 3rd kilometre; with that same late-race rhythm appearing earlier, there is scope to lower the overall time.
