Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Randy Opoku Junior #642 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast start, steady close for a 22:04 5K Randy Opoku Junior ran 5.00 km in 22:04, averaging 4:24/km at Run The Wharf in London. He finished 633rd of 5,624 overall, 399th among men, and 81st in the Male 1825 division. His opening kilometre was his quickest at 4:08, and he reached 2 km in 8:35. From there, his splits settled to 4:28, 4:34, 4:33, and 4:23. That final kilometre was a strong response after the mid-race slowdown, showing he still had good closing speed. The main opportunity is pacing: the gap between the first and slowest kilometre was 26 seconds, so a slightly more controlled first kilometre could help him hold closer to 4:24/km throughout. Run The Wharfs evening closed-road 5K format suited a quick, sharp effort.
