Strong Start, Steady Middle, Fast Final Kilometre Adam ran 5.0 km in 22:48, averaging 4:33/km at Run The Wharf. He placed 38th in the Male 4145 category and finished ahead of most of the 5,624-runner field, a solid result in a large evening 5K through Canary Wharf. His opening kilometre was the quickest at 4:24, and he closed well with a 4:29 final kilometre. The pacing pattern was clear: 4:24, 4:33, 4:41, 4:42, then back to 4:29. That late pickup after two slower middle kilometres is a good sign of control and finishing strength. As a coachs note, the main opportunity is to smooth out kilometres 3 and 4; holding those closer to early-race pace would likely move the overall time down further.
