Strong negative split with a fast closing kilometre Will completed the 5K in 25:09, averaging 5:01/km. He finished 1,318th of 5,624, placing 855th among men and 162nd in the male 1825 division. His race built well across the evening-based Canary Wharf course, moving from 5:22 in the opening kilometre to 4:25 in the final kilometre. The progression was clear: 5:22, 5:15, 5:06, 5:02, then 4:25 per km. He gained places after 1 km, improved again by 2 km, and finished with his best position of the race. That finishing speed stands out most. As a coachs note, the data suggests that starting a little closer to his later rhythm could unlock a quicker overall time while still preserving that strong finish.
