Strong finish with steadily quicker pacing Carla completed the 5K in 28:45, averaging 5:45/km. She placed 29th in the female 4650 division and finished 2,179th of 5,624 overall. Her pacing improved well across the race: 5:55, 5:45, 5:56, 5:42 and 5:29 per km, with the fastest kilometre coming at the end. That closing kilometre was a clear strength, 26 seconds quicker than the first. She also moved up strongly through 4km, reaching 27th in her division before finishing 29th. In an event known for its fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a solid example of controlled running followed by a decisive finish. The main coaching point is to smooth out the third kilometre so the strong late pace shows up even earlier.
