The key stat was her strong start, followed by a gradual slowdown across the remaining kilometres: 6:03, 6:24, 6:07, and 6:21/km. She held her position well through 4K before the final kilometre. For the next 5K, aiming to keep kilometres 25 closer to her early pace would likely bring down the overall time. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suited a quick opening, and she made good use of that early section.
