Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ines Novo #6703 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast 5K with a Strong Closing Kilometre Ines ran 5.00 km in 18:11, averaging 3:38/km. Through 4 km, the pacing stayed very controlled: 3:39, 3:36, 3:45, and 3:44 per km, a spread of just 9 seconds across those kilometres. That consistency set up the standout stat of the race: a fastest final kilometre in 3:28. This was a well-executed evening 5K on the closed roads of Canary Wharf, with a clear negative finish over the closing section. The strongest takeaway is how much speed was still available late in the race. As a coachs note, the only area to target is the middle portion from 3-4 km, where pace eased slightly before the finish kick. Tightening that section could bring the overall time down further.
