Strong negative split capped by a fast final kilometre Kevin ran 5.0km in 27:14, averaging 5:26/km. He finished 67th of 46-50 men and placed in the top 33% overall (1821 of 5624). His pacing improved through the race: 5:47, 5:44, 5:28, 5:28, then a quickest final kilometre of 4:48. That closing 1km was 59 seconds faster than his opening kilometre, a clear sign of good control early and strong finishing speed late. Through 4km he had already brought average pace down to 5:36/km before sharpening again over the last kilometre. As a coaching note, the even strength across kilometres 3 and 4 suggests he could consider pressing slightly earlier to turn that late surge into a faster overall time at this quick evening Canary Wharf 5K.
